Way
back in 1975, it was obvious to us that there was a very large
area to the north of Wycombe, which had no local veterinary
services. A surgery was established in Eastern Dene, Hazlemere using the
Walters' garage with the shed as a waiting room!

 |
It
was basic and rather cold. However, it was well supported, even
in the depths of winter. After a couple of years an extension
was added to the Walters' home to accommodate the growing clientele.
Eventually in 1984, a property on the Amersham Road became available.
This
enabled us to have premises dedicated solely to veterinary practice-
and Malcolm's family regained their privacy!
The
Amersham Road Veterinary surgery has been a very popular and busy
venue and has proved itself as a community asset.

However, time
has moved on and the whole fabric of the building was in need
of refurbishment. We felt that it was time to re-evaluate the
services being offered, using the Watlington Branch surgery as
a role model.
Early
in 2004, work was carried out to make major alterations
to the whole building. The reception and consulting areas
have had a 'facelift' but have stayed essentially the same.
However a new extension at the rear will house facilities
for minor operations such as neutering, dentals, stitching
wounds and local emergencies. There are day kennels for
animals recovering from anesthetics.

A fully qualified
nurse is in attendance along with the receptionist and,
of course, the veterinary surgeon on 'Hazlemere duty'. We
are sure that our local clients will greet this with enthusiasm.
All major surgery will still be carried out at the main
veterinary centre/surgery at Wycombe.
There's
a warm welcome at our Hazlemere Surgery

We're
very excited about this new phase in the life of this veterinary
surgery. The upgraded residential accommodation upstairs.
The improvement to the external appearance of the building will
be an asset to the local area, whilst we will continue to try to
offer an improved service to our patients and clients alike. |
