PEOPLE'S DISPENSARY FOR SICK ANIMALS

Crossroads Veterinary Centre are part of the PDSA Petaid scheme for pet owners who are in receipt of housing benefit or council tax benefit. You may be elligable if you live within the postcode areas of HP6 TO HP16 including all inbetween. What does this mean? Well if you are a pet owner who receives benefits as mentioned then contact the practice for a leaflet on the scheme and call the number on it.

The PDSA will then explain how it works and you will receive a registration form. Once this is complete and the PDSA have received and checked details they will issue you with a certificate for the named pet.
What costs are covered? the scheme is for sick and injured animals and so they will not pay for vaccinations and routine neutering which of course are recommended as basic animal care, but once you are registered with Crossroads and the PDSA petaid scheme you can book your pet in for an appointment for veterinary treatment. The scheme does not cover breeding of your pet especially for financial gain.
Your certificate will be valid for 6 or 12 months and they PDSA will contact you to renew as necessary. Only one pet per household is allowed but you can select to chose to name another pet at re registration time.
So call in to the practice or look out for posters at local community centres etc and contact the number if you think you may be entitled to Petaid and get registered.
To all our clients who may ask will this affect the practice or the way the practice works in anyway? no not at all the Veterinary Centre will continue as we have for many years offering the best in pet healthcare and client care we can. Clients will not in any way see fee increases to assist the scheme as it is run and funded by the PDSA not the practice. We are just able to offer a little something back to the community and see clients here who may have had to travel out of the area to seek subsidised pet care.
Do you know a friend, family member or neighbour who may benefit from this scheme and not be aware of it? young or old alike, please let them know about it.
Crossroads Vets are based at 54 West Wycombe road High Wycombe, Amersham Road - Hazlemere and Couching Street- Watlington
